Statement: Mariner East 2 Pipeline In Service Announcement

Good Evening –

I hope folks are enjoying the holiday.  Of course, the nation’s energy sector never rests as Americans travel, businesses produce, and homes are heated.  And energy workers – producers, suppliers, and even construction workers – are always working to ensure U.S. energy safely and efficiently gets to where it’s needed.  In fact, earlier today, the Mariner East 2 pipeline was officially put into service helping to ensure that U.S. energy – specifically natural gas liquids – from throughout the Midwest, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania continues to be brought to market – and put to use.

Below is a statement from the GAIN Coalition, which you can attribute to me, Craig Stevens, spokesman Craig Stevens for the Coalition:

“We are pleased to learn that the Mariner East 2 pipeline has been placed into service and is now safely transporting valuable domestic energy resources from the the Marcellus and Utica Shale production areas to important consumer markets via the Marcus Hook Industrial Complex.  This project has already created economic benefits throughout the region, from good paying construction jobs to unleashing record-setting natural gas production. Safe, reliable infrastructure investments like the Mariner East 2 pipeline support a stronger, more resilient economy that benefits all Americans.”
