GAIN Statement on Proposed $2 Trillion US Infrastructure Package

Earlier this week, President Donald Trump met with Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to discuss a $2 trillion infrastructure package. This discussion comes at a critical juncture as the American Society of Civil Engineers’ recently gave America’s infrastructure a D+ rating. The proposed package would include funds to repair and modernize roads, bridges, waterways, broadband, the power grid, and a number of other public structural enhancements.

Below is a statement that you can attribute to me, Craig Stevens, spokesman for the GAIN Coalition:

“The GAIN Coalition commends President Trump and Democratic Congressional leadership for working to improve our nation’s aging critical infrastructure. It is great to see this important discussion taking place after decades of putting infrastructure development on the back burner. Bipartisan support is key to passing a comprehensive plan that meets the needs of our growing population and thriving economy, and we look forward to future discussion on growing America’s infrastructure.”
