GAIN Applauds Energy Secretary Brouillette for Recognizing PA Energy Success

U.S. Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette today visited the Shell Ethane Cracker Plant in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, to highlight the region’s critical energy contributions and role in bolstering American energy independence and driving economic growth. The tour was the first stop in a two-day trip to the Pittsburgh-area emphasizing the importance of a robust energy and petrochemical industry and the thousands of family-sustaining jobs supported by the facility and broader industry.

Below is a statement that can be attributed to me, Craig Stevens, spokesman for the GAIN Coalition:

“GAIN applauds Secretary Brouillette and the Trump Administration for their unwavering commitment to strengthening domestic energy production and critical infrastructure development while recognizing the state of Pennsylvania’s contributions. As the nation’s second-largest natural gas producer, Pennsylvania plays a critical role in providing affordable, reliable energy for American families in addition to natural gas liquids, like ethane, that can be used to produce a variety of household essentials thanks to technological advancements at facilities like the Shell Ethane Cracker.

“The Administration’s focus on an ‘all of the above’ energy strategy that includes investments in renewables like wind and solar but also maintains the importance of cornerstone resources like natural gas are key to bolstering American energy independence and national security and supporting thousands of high-skilled jobs all while ensuring consumer access to reliable, affordable, domestically-produced energy.”
