GAIN Statement: Trump Taps Liberty CEO Chris Wright to lead Energy Department

President-elect Donald Trump has announced Chris Wright, CEO of Denver-based Liberty Energy, will lead the U.S. Department of Energy.

Below is a statement that can be attributed to me, Craig Stevens, spokesman for the GAIN Coalition and former senior advisor to U.S. Energy Secretary Sam Bodman:

“President Trump’s choice of Chris Wright signals the incoming administration’s commitment to restoring American energy dominance, promoting energy exploration and production, and greenlighting future energy projects. Wright’s background illustrates the importance of reestablishing an all-of-the-above energy approach which began under the first Trump administration.”

“Our country enjoys an abundance of energy resources beneath our feet, and we must harness it. Onerous regulations and unnecessary delays of critical energy projects will soon be in the past. I look forward to Mr. Wright’s tenure as Secretary of Energy.”
