Statement: Chris Wright Confirmed as Energy Secretary

Today, the United States Senate officially confirmed Liberty Energy CEO Chris Wright as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy. Wright was confirmed by a vote of 59-38.

Below is a statement that can be attributed to me, Craig Stevens, spokesman for the GAIN Coalition and former senior advisor to U.S. Energy Secretary Sam Bodman:

“The Grow Americas Infrastructure Now (GAIN) Coalition applauds the confirmation of Chris Wright as Energy Secretary. As Secretary, Chris Wright will unleash American energy dominance, strengthening our energy security by supporting investments in critical infrastructure projects while creating jobs at home delivering U.S. LNG to our allies overseas.

Wright supports an all-of-the-above energy strategy, which includes oil, natural gas, nuclear, hydropower, wind, and solar.

Secretary Wright’s confirmation underscores the Trump administration’s commitment to utilizing our domestic resources, which promotes economic growth and energy resilience. I look forward to Secretary Wright’s leadership as the head of the Department of Energy and his efforts to maintain America’s role as a global energy leader.”
