Spider Marks: Willow Project Will Enhance U.S. Energy Independence and National Security
Today, the Biden administration approved the Willow Project in Alaska’s National Petroleum Reserve. This project will help strengthen U.S. energy independence.
Below is a statement that can be attributed to Major General Spider Marks, Former Commanding General of the U.S. Army Intelligence Center:
“The Biden administration made the right decision to approve the Willow Project in Alaska. The Willow Project has the potential to produce 180,000 barrels of oil per day, create as many as 2,500 jobs, and enhance America’s energy independence. This directly contributes to our efforts to more fulsomely support our alliances and global obligations.
“The war in Ukraine has underscored the importance of energy security and we should be utilizing all our vast energy resources available. I encourage President Biden to prioritize American energy security and support projects that reinforce our position as a global energy leader.”
